Hey everyone need a lil advice. Just bought another powerhead today which brings me up to 540gph in a 30 gal FOWLR. One powerhead is a Zoo med powersweep http://www.petsmart.com/product/ind...av_dropdown4_link5&parentPage=family&keepsr=1 the other is a Aquaclear http://www.petsmart.com/product/ind...clear&kw=aquaclear&parentPage=search&keepsr=1
both are rated 270gph. The powersweep is really cool. anyway I have aquaclear pointed from the left back corner towards the right front corner. the powersweep in the back right corner sweeping. I did a lil drawing...lol also still have my whisper running. So is my flow good? In the right directions? Would anybody set it up diff? View attachment powerheads.bmp

Personaly, i dont see any problems with your flow how you have the drawing. Time will tell if your flow is right as you will start to notice dead spots where detrius and gunk start to build up, then you adjust your flow to compensate. There is no real good rules when it comes to flow, its what is best for each tank.

Like Niko said there is no rule to placing powerheads. A lot can depend on the placement of your rock as well. My tank has been set up since June and I'm still playing around with powerheads trying to get the "perfect" balance. One trick someone has suggested is to trun your powerheads off, add a drop of milk to the tank, turn your powerheads back on and watch for any dead spots. I've yet to try that one but I might give it a go.
