just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am kind of new and kind of old to this hobby. I just started up a 20 gallon reeftank after a 10 year hiatus from the hobby. This is the first time I have tried raising the more difficult kinds of corals. Right now I have a few acropora frags along with some other lps and softies. Any suggestions will be humbly received. I have already enjoyed parsing through several of the threads and I feel that this community seems to be very constructive and friendly. I look forward to throwing in my two-cents worth.

The first coral is a purple tipped acro and the second pic was described rather generically as some pink and purple zoo by the LFS. I confess that I am not all that knowledgeable about cnidaria taxonomy. I tend to base purchasing decisions on two rather basic criteria: 1) oooh pretty, 2) is it compatible?.

Thank you for the warm greetings. Nice to see a fellow minnesotan, although I must confess that I am sort of a transplant from the UK. i haven't been to Niko's neck of the woods but I did used to go shopping in Birmingham and I played paintball near Nottingham. I do miss the UK. I lived in a small village not too far from Cambridge. It was off of the A-1011. I could see Ely Cathedral on a clear day (when the fog from the Fenns wasn't too thick). I plan to go back soon so maybe I'll look you up Niko

I moved back to the US in 2003. I miss Europe and am contemplating taking a job back there again. Only thing holding me back is family here that I don't want to be too far away from again. Yes Ely Cathedral is a quite impressive building. I was there when they had kind of a reopening of it after they had done some restoration work on it. Here is a pic of my house in the village of Little Ouse right behind the Little Ouse river.

Hey.. Nice to meet you.. Missed your original post but I'm a next door neighbor in Fargo, ND..
I was stationed in Europe as well and miss it terribly much. I am planning on taking a trip through the Black Forest next year.. Want to make it around x-mas so I can hit Nuernberg again during the Christmas season as well..
