about how many pounds of gravel should i get for my 75 gal?
 
pounds?!?! dang! i never thought it would need that much! approximately how many inches high should the gravel be?
 
what are you keeping? is it going to be planted?

if its going to be planted, prob 2-3"
but it all depends on what your keeping
 
i have Electric Yelow and Albino Socolofi african cichlids. and yes, it will be planted. i have V. Spiralis that will be planted. i'm still not sure what color gravel i am going to want to use. maybe all black, but maybe black + red. any suggestions?
 
well right now i have plants with big roots that i just got yesterday and i have not enough gravel at all so probably i will go with 3 inches.
 
Try to get fine gravel if you can.....or sand. Mbuna like to dig around in the substrate and make "bunkers" as I like to call them. Makes it a little easier if the substrate is light IMO.
