How much food should angelfish be fed at a time? I feed them frozen and flakes. I would like to keep them healthy and happy, and not under/over fed. Is there some kind of rule to go by? Please help - I've only had them 3 days and already they swim right up to me wanting me to feed them every time I approach the tank.

feed mine two small meals per day..but it depends on the size of the angels.
juvies can take food 3-4 times per day but clean up any uneaten food as it can spoil water params

They will eat until they pop, so just feed them what's gone in 5 minutes.

I agree with the above and I feed mine twice a day as well but once a day is just fine for adults.

yea, my single angel is like that. it's gotten quite large already. I just feed my fish once a day and skip a day. They'll be fine. I just stare at it when it wants me to feed it food..

I feed my juvies 4-6 times a day but very small amounts, that way they have to pick thru the gravel for food

Thanks everyone for your replies. I thought it was the five minute thing, but wanted to be sure. The body part of my fish are about the size of a silver dollar and the LFS told me that they're about six months old. I wanted to get smaller ones, but he said smaller ones have a harder time adjusting when moved. I've never had angelfish before, and I really, really like them. They have such personality. Hongkong, that's really funny that you just stare at them when it wants food
