Just a quick question.

Is it ok to leave a UV on 24/7? Or will it take out any good nutrients from the water needed for corals etc etc?.

UV's should not be left running at all in my opinion as they also remove the good bacteria from the water column aswell as bad. They should be kept to one side in case of a paracitic outbreak or a big algae bloom..

I agree, and in my own opinion feel they have no place on a reef aquarium. Used on a quarantine tank, sure. A fish only tank, sure. But reef tank, couldn't pay me to run one.
