MY kissing fish is dying, its nose and fins are turning red.
It has been lerthargic lately and today it has grown very weak.
Upon touching it, it'll still move.
What can I do ? Help!
I've settled it in a tank with dechlorinated water with a pinch of salt.

Red streaks in the fins are often a symptom of bacterial infection. Clean water and plenty of greens may help the fish pull through, if things haven't gone too far.
Kissing Gouramis have always been one of the "standard" tropical fishes in every LFS. But they are really pond fish, unsuitable to all but the largest tanks. And they need constant greens to thrive.

Thanks for your reply. I hope it survives. =)
It seems to be lying flat on its side and surfacing to breathe occasionally though there's air bubbling through the water. =\

It just died.
Saw it struggling in pain.
Its gills opening and its fins quivering, then it ended its life.
Sigh.
What's the usual lifespan for this type of fish ?
sorry :(
5 years or so at a guess......
