i know that it is not at all recomended, but on the very slight chance that my 10 gal is not vacated by the time i need to put the female into it, how long would the fry be able to survive in a 5 gal bucket?

if you add sponger filter and a heater they can be there for a week atleast. make sure your water doesnt become foul.
