View Full Version : What to put in girlfriend's stocking?

We're doing this cheesy cutesy thing where there will be a stocking for each of us that gets filled daily with any manner of things throughout December. Just small things....trinkets, candy, toys, notes, who knows what.

I have plenty of ideas already but wouldn't mind getting a few from others.

She does like fish.

(And yes I already know this thread is just asking for all kinds of crude and inappropriate comments. I don't mind.)

Maybe if she's looking for a certain fish, you can go out early one day and buy her some, and just keep them in the stocking for a small amount of time before she sees them  (if that could ever work, some flaws)...

Or a dead rat if you get in a fight :evil_lol:

Whoa too close to home - she is as into her pet rats as i am into the fish.

Okay, maybe best not to have a dead rat in there :grinno:

*makes crude and/or inapproprate comment*:D

now that thats out of the way, I suggest you write her a little love poem everyday and put it in her stocking... thats what id do... then again I am a bit of a poet.

I said she had pet rats, not that she was a rat! hehehe :grinyes:

I like these ideas so far.

Is she into any girlie stuff? Gift cert for a manicure or even just a bottle of O.P.I polish?

Or keychains, small photo frames, one of those tiny books they sell at the counter at bookstores, her favorite candy or snack, a pair of panties, silly or pretty socks, etc.

The trick with we women is to show us that you know us well. Which is why the fish stuff is a good idea too. If she hates nail polish then the nail polish is a horrid idea. If she likes it on her toes perhaps a bottle of O.P.I is going to be a fun treat.

Well, If I were to be in her shoes, I would want things that show, that you know me, and were thinking of me, like grins said.

You could always do a theme, it would look like you put alot of thought into it...

,(date night for example) start by giving her candles, then a dvd, that you guys both want to see(mainly her), popcorn the next night, one wine glass, then the other, then the wine, Then you can give her cozy pj bottoms, then the top, then comfy socks, then a cheese that matches the wine, crackers, , then after you have gotten everything you would need for the date night, you stand with the stocking on your head, and takeout from her favorite place, lol..clothed of course...

you could also do a spa theme, face masks, body lotion, nail polish, files, favorite shampoo, scented soaps, massage oils, mani/pedi supplies, and the last night, you be the spa tech!

you could also do a tank stocking, the second to last night, put the stocking in the tank, then contact your local fish store, prepay for the fish you are getting her, and have them hang the stocking on the tank. you would have to take her there, so I would suggest, putting a note and blindfold in there, but not actually saying what it is. ideas for that theme would be, fish food, a book identifying fish specie, the filter, a bag of gravel, plants, air pump, thermometer, ect...

I like doing themes, sorry, lol, we did this for my mom on her 50th B-day, we had a different item for each day delivered to her office, in the end, she had a nice English tea set, with her favorite flavors, and additives, along with the biscuits, and candies to go with it to, she loved it!

:iagree: Love these ideas! But seriously whatever you do I'm sure she will love!! Women really aren't that hard, as long as we know it came from your heart and you put some thought into it, 9 times out of 10 we love it!

I went to a big department store and charmed a ton of perfume samples from the counter gals......then stuffed her stocking with them, among too many other things. But the perfume was a HUGE hit.

hm, i'd say full salt

Yes they do move to full salt as they get older.

The diet changes as well, from daily feeds of attention to three times daily chowing down on masculinity and self-respect. true carnivores which are very difficult to maintain in the home environment.

They require a heck of a lot of filtration as well.

Ok, it's a stocking. Otherwise known as a large sock. Put a foot in it. Feet can be found cheaply at any local hospital morgue. Bring a handsaw and a few plastic bags...

But seriously, have fun with it. Temp tattoos out of gumball machines, treat food for her favorite pets, a list of the ten things you love about her, a rock with purple string if she read that thread on AC, socks. Who would put socks inside a sock? You would! Women tend to have colder feet.

Maybe slip in a question about what she wants here and there, discreetly so she doesn't expect anything...

Well depends...if she is a chef of sort she'll like that sort of thing...especially the small gifts found in a stocking. But a toaster as a main gift to someone that you're romantic with? Bad idea unless you really do like living under the evil eye.

Wow thank you everyone! You are all giving some truly awesome suggestions. I can't say what I will be doing, as she has looked on here a few times to see if I'm as fishy smart online as I pretend to be in real life. Ergo she may find any posts containing the sensitive information of what I have been putting in the stocking.

She would certainly do best in a species tank though. She's very shy but has her crabby, aggressive moments. I wouldn't think her a marine or brackish species however; her personality is sort of labyrinth fish like; contemplative and relaxed but eats a lot and will push smaller fish out of the way to get what she wants. She likes lots of plants, subdued lighting and reduced current.

On the other end of the stocking thing, her feet do get cold. And she has a sort of sock fetish as she likes long socks quite a bit. I think stockings in a stocking will be one thing for sure I can say...as she probably knows it already.

The funniest thing is she has been mentioning that she isn't sure what to put in my stocking - so as a humorous aside, I might ask you all - from knowing only what you know of me on this forum, what would you put in my stocking?

Mine likes the little unexpected things as well.. A flower on a day that doesn't require one.. An "I Love you" note tucked under the pillow.. Having a Bubble bath drawn for her when she gets home from a bad day at work.. Letting her control the remote (this one is the hardest for me personally :) )

Sparkling gouramis then if she has a "labyrinth" personality?:grinyes: I adore these witty guys.:hearts:

I wouldn't think of a kissing gourami with the words "Ï love you" written on it.:22_yikes: But then, who wants a 12-inches tattooed fish anyway?:perv:

well, whats the GF like?..Is she girly?, does she like to go 4 wheelin' give us an idea, and I will tell you what to buy, And what did she buy you last year we need to know that as well, gives us a better price range, and a better idea, of how she shops...

Can't say there was a last year as we have been somewhat of a whirlwind fall for each other - only dating since early July.

Now as far as her being girly or not, she seems to dance right in between. It's like one minute she is all overemotional and crazy snuggly...super romantic...but then she can be really logical and almost odd in how practical she thinks. I'm not a true subscriber to astrology, but she is very Libra.

She has a whole bunch of rats. She adores cute little furry animals....to a point where she will cry if she sees them as roadkill. She is a terrible procrastinator - having bought her tank and all of its equipment back when we first met, and yet she has still not gotten around to getting her room rearranged to set the thing up! My QT facilities have been housing corys, a betta and some plants for a few months now in the wait to live in her tank!

The girl can eat. She's not one of those picky salad eaters. But she is a vegetarian except for eating fish on occasion.

You know what, here is her myspace (http://www.myspace.com/atleastmymomlovesme) profile. Maybe that'd help? haha
