I have seen the newly purchased Gephyrochromis lawsi circling around another G. lawsi, but it is also shaking in front of the other (according to a post by tarheels, this would be spawning behaviour)...

Anyways, the question is not if that is really spawning, but the possibility of spawning at such a small size. I have noticed that they are shaking and circling around each other, but they are less than 1.5" (babies)... I know that they are supposed to only reach a maximum size of 4", if not 5". Is that even possible?

Just practicing maybe? I could not find anything about what size these fish usually are to begin breeding.

Might be -.- I guess I'll just have to wait. They are quite a wonderful group :)

I think that either haps or peacocks or both are known to breed when they are quite small, but I'm somewhat sure that mbuna usually would have to wait until they are a bit larger (I think it's 3" or so)
