December 2007 Freshwater Photo of the Month

Welcome to the December 2007 Freshwater Photo Of The Month competition.

Voting is now open to everybody, one vote only per person.

There will be a limited 14 days voting period, followed by the selection of a winner with the highest number of votes from AquariaCentral.com . If in the instance of more than one winner is selected (same number of votes), a secondary 7 days voting would be held to determine the winner.

The winner of the previous months Freshwater POTM contest will not be eligible to enter another Freshwater Photo of the Month Contest for the next three months, to ensure fairness and opportunity for other participants to win.

Wow! Lot's of invertebrate entries this month. I went for 11, great shot. Would have gone for 4 if it was clearer. But all pics look good. :headbang2: Great entries.

*** is mine. I'm happy with the number of votes, but not happy that I'm losing. But seeing #11, I'm not upset, that's also a great pic! I'm glad you all liked mine as much as I did, I just wish I had thought of posting it sooner.

We have to name the crayfish as he's been in there so long, we've never had one last that long with our turtle. But these two seem to have an understanding. I'll have to get another picture to show how big he is.

They just got moved into their new 75 gallon tank over the weekend, and it's natural decor instead of the ships and such, so hopefully you will all be seeing more of him!

You can submit 1 photo, of your choice into each of the four competitions...Submissions can be made anytime through out the month. So, if you submit between 1st December and 31st December, it will go up for voting on 1st of January...So, your submitting your pics for the month ahead...

To submit the pics, use the email links in my signature...

For me it was a choice between 4 and 11. I eventually went for #4 because of the "Dread Pirate Shrimp." I'm a sucker for humorous shots. :)

Thanks mozart! My little buddy is a lazer cory who shows up exactly in the picture as it looks in real life, colors and all. He/she is kinda fat. :] I think there are three kinds of lazers: green lazers, red ones, and orange ones. (wish I had some :) They are really rare and when i went to my lfs the next day, all the lazers were GONE!!! the lady said hardly anyone breeds them in captivity, so i guess i was really lucky to get him for $13. i couldn't even find info on the web about them. anyhow, thanks a lot! to have one comment devoted to my cory was the best thing that happened this week! woohoo! the jewels are actually just pretty marbles. :]
