I bought two Atari 7800's the other day, with some games (some 2600 games and some 7800's). Anyway, one of the games is called "Summer Games". I can't for the life of me figure out how to do the swimming event. I can jump in the water, but I don't know how to swim "fast". The only thing that seems to do anything is when you push the left button on the joystick, he will speed up for a second. However pushing it over and over does not make him keep going fast. If anyone has this game and knows how to do this event, I would like to know.

I bought it from a person, not in a store, if that is what you thought. Got a pretty good deal on it. Two systems (although one has some problems), with 46 games for $40.

I am not sure. I will try that later.

Thanks, that seems to help.

Does anyone else here still play Atari? I am working on beating Pitfall now. The aligators give me the most trouble.

I loved atari, pitfall was one of my favorites and I remember the summer games as well, but I haven't played them for about 15-20 years

What I thought was great about old games was that there was no learning curve.

STICK........BUTTON

You can't go wrong with that simplicity!

Even my grandmother would play those games with me. And kick my butt.

Ahh Atari... memories..

I don't have my Atari console anymore, but I do collect emulators. All the games are available to play on your computer for free.
I have a collection of almost every game from every console before Playstation 2. I also have a nice collection of old arcade and PC games.
I love playing through them every now and then.
Good times!

I had a Raiders of the Lost Arc game that I could never figure out what the object was.

I remember reserving Pac-Man and waiting and waiting, then when I got it, the game was so lame.

I liked pitfall, stampede, and star fighter. All of the activision games were way better than the other brands.

I had a working system and a bunch of games until a few years back, I sold them are a yard sale. I had not touched it for years.
