Was making a shopping list for my 30gal fowlr. Well right now no fish just ine blue leg hermit. Anyway, gunna get a new light a Sunpod 150watt 14K MH, and a Koralia nano powerhead rated 240gph. I already have a Zoomed powersweep rated 270gph running with a aquaclear head also 270gph but don't like the aquaclear head. It blows in a stream line that i do not like. Maybe I got used to how the zoomed sweeps along that now I don't like the aqua head. My question is, does anyone know if the Koralia blows straight out or is it diffused across a lil better? Maybe I should just buy another zoomed. Happy Turkey Day!!!:drool:
 
There is a small ammount of diffusion on the nano versions, but not a great lot compared to the standard models...its more like a wider flow dispersion than diffusion because the propellor is set further forward in the exit portion of the head where as on the normal versions the propellor is set farther back which allows flow to pushed out at a wider angle...

So it does have a big area of contact or dispersion. Think I should go for the Koralia 1 or will i have to much flow, I would then be @ 670gph? Also forgot to ask before I am in the middle of resetting my display and am QTing my LR. Was wondering how the Kent Marine rock prep works or does it not work at all?
 
The nano's dont have that big a dispersion.....Flow wise, your on about 23x per hour with 670gph which for me is acceptable mate..

With your live rock, as long as the temp and SG are correct, there is nothing that needs to be added to the tank that the live rock is sitting in, it will be fine...these chemicals and additives really are not needed in a stable aquarium in my opinion and should only be used as a last resort method to fix a problem..

That doesn't mean you can't import the tradition! Take the day off and eat a bird.. whats not to love? :)
