This is where the game is truly evil...it has me wondering if HN would freely admit it because he is an evil elf and thinks we would never suspect such a free confession on the first day was true ...or if he admitted it because he is...well evil enough to toy with us. :huh:

HN has played enough not to be so stupid as to put a bulls eye on his head. Goes back a few games agon when Ogre did something simlar. However this time, I dont think HN is confessing a thing. I dont exactly know where to put my thoughts as to this being a move that would help the town tho, I mean...why would he even insinuate he was an elf, I didnt see anything in the rules about good elves.

Out of no where, I get a call from a stockholder that wants to see the game. He got four tickets, lower level, mid field. I pick them all (the other three) up at the airport at 4:30.

I work in retail, a few weeks ago I had to leave town with a short notice and this week I am going to have to leave town quickly again. I died my first UD ever that game. I was with stockholders then and not able to have much time on the computer.

Once again, I will be with stockholders. I am leaving Thursday morning to drive up to Dallas, going to the game, and staying the night in Dallas. I will not be online until Friday, I am not sure how much time I will have available. After the game I will attempt to post.

I do not plan on dying a UD and will do everything in my power to not miss a day cycle.

I will post before I leave. I do not want to change my vote just yet, but there does seem to be some strange day one activity going on. It has been a busy evening here and IRL.

While I understand that, and if the level of play from the Grinch and his buddies is anything of what we had last game we are in for a long haul.. But trying to draw them out is the key and as of this point there are quite a lot of people playing and what I consider next to no participation..

I have personally decided to take a HN or stronger approach this game and confronting people directly.. If that gets me lynched so be it but its a hell of an idea that this passive play thats going on now.. And if people don't like it to **** bad.. At least I'll try to get information out there that will allow us to make better decisions instead of running in circles.

Out of all those posts the only one that mentions lynching an innocent is talking about discussing it not doing it. I see this as a trap laid down which Mad points out in later posts when he says looking for WHO wants to kill. The one post in question kept that discussion alive to find the evils.

Niko is looking like a pretty strong vote candidate at this time.

Still would like Andis explanation of why she would ask anyone if they were Santa.

Let me clear the air. In my role playing, i was gonna just slightly modify "A Christmas Carol", by Charles Dickens. I decided to use Ogre as Mr. Scrooge (since he wasn't playing and could not be offended), and me as Bob Cratchit. I had also planned to give ZSandman the role of Tiny Tim. Brandy Jensons was going to be his love interest. Then I got concerned that I might get sued. You made a role play post once about Ogre and your cat, and your cat wasn't playing.

I hadn't cleared this up, Niko, because I thought my position was clear.... I am completely against any attempt to strike against Blitzen. Because I am willing to discuss the issue doesn't mean my position has changed.

As I said, if people had a differeing viewpoint than mine I wanted to hear, as I thought that anyone more interested in chasing Blitzen than scum appeared to be scummy themselves (and that's info I'd like to have).

Yep, I stated concerns on KotD and Kuhli last nignt also. They said they had a lot of reading to do then nothing since. It doesn't help the innocents to weed out the evils if you don't post.

Not hiding at all. Was drinking a hot toddie last night in the town bar and have been having coffee this morning catching up. I do have a large event coming up though that has me a wee bit busier than I expected as I didn't learn about it until 3 days ago. I need to go run errands for it now but I'll be back before nightfall to vote...and hopefully have a better idea than I do now of who to vote for. :)

I have noticed a few things.

First, CL seemed to be "on" Coler right from the start, not even sure where that comes from.

Second, there are a few newbs that seem to be vocal and seem to know what they are doing, odd for day one. There are also a few newbs that have barely posted.

Third, antinxon seemed real vocal and then just faded away. I know there is the time zone, but I would have expected more posts.

Fourth, besides the Blitzen discussion, most of the posts seem to be head to head attacks or fluff.

Fifth, Charlie mentions Ogre in a role play post, but Ogre is not playing. Kinda confusing there.

Speaking of confusing, Sixth, where is Lady G?

Also I noted LadyG's absense yesterday with her being one of the "strongest" addicts in this game. As a matter of fact I don't even really see her post anywhere else other than GCC to tell you honestly it does seem strange on her part.


I really dont see or understand how voting for yourself can prove any point at all besides trying to remove suspicion from yourself, playing the "I'm hard done too, people are accusing me, if i vote for myself, people will leave me alone" card. It dont work, as we have seen, which is why you have now retracted your vote on yourself.

Niko vote for me if you want at this point I have hung myself to a certain extent and my move was more a ploy to see who was following someone that I put at an uber sneaky level.. I don't put anything past Coler and much like Charlie said about me in a previous post Coler is someone I watch closely.. And honestly I'm not scared of anyone voting for me or lynching me this round so to me it makes perfect sense to pull this type of a gambit as I don't have to stay behind the lines as I'm not the leader or a minion.

Not sure about this.... yes, I agree that JM was suspicious in that she had mostly social type posts, to my recollection. I would hope that any reshuffling of roles would occur within the given side (townie or scum), and that nobody would have jumped from good to evil.

I can sort of agree with this if their low posting is that of norm.. Like you for example.. Not a large poster normally so I don't think its out of character.. My concern about niko is that he was never really answering questions, just giving these little contradictory, cryptic hints. Not being straightforward, or looking like you're purposefully trying to be coy or cryptic, does no one any favors.

I think Coler might have a point Madcrawdad, you said that hunting down Blitzen is scummier than trying to hunt down the evil elves, but you have never mentioned hunting them down yourself. I agree with all of that...there might be some question of whether Judge if evil leaving the game means a goodguy was made evil...could have just given the power/role to another on same team.

Ok..I've been thinking about it a lot (too much lol).

Here's where I am : starting from I voted for CL (and it was on reviewing the blitzen mumbo jumbo, I just didn't want to say that for my own reasons).

1. CL came out and said himself immediately that I must be scum and that I started the blitzen nonsense - yes I made the first post mentioning the fellow but the volume of blizen posts from CL was what drew my attention.

2. CL was very ratty in response and looked, objectively, panicked.

3. CL voted for himself...as long as I've played this game here, this is a sign of scum.

4. CL says he doesn't do oh my god you suck retaliatory votes, but ever since I voted for him he has insisted I am scum...if so he should vote for me/come up with something better than 'you voted for me so you must be scum'.

5. Its day one and I have no better suspect.

I do notice a lack of enthusiasm for voting CL however, and whilst I wonder why this is, because nobody has put up a strong case for anybody else, this makes me pause for thought.

I would like to see CL defend himself by showing us pro-town behaviour on his part (there has not, in my opinion been anything pro-town in a serious way), or perhaps anyone who wishes to defend him would do so - I have an open mind.

I have personally decided to take a HN or stronger approach this game and confronting people directly.. If that gets me lynched so be it but its a hell of an idea that this passive play thats going on now.. And if people don't like it to **** bad.. At least I'll try to get information out there that will allow us to make better decisions instead of running in circles.

Here's the thing, CL. We're talking about you voting for yourself...not exactly the best information-gathering tool in a townie's arsenal.

Do you remember a few games back when Chas proposed killing himself as an innocent? You were scum then, and you were all over that, actually used it as your reason for helping lynch him. So how has voting yourself now become a method for gathering info? Seriously.

On Day 1, when an innocent is lynched (which is most of the time), the blame rarely ends up on anyone's doorstep. It's too early. IMO voting yourself is always scummy. If you were doing it on Day 4, I might find it slightly less scummy, in that if you are lynched and show innocent, the folks voting you might actually be held somewhat responsible.

I can't believe that you believe voting yourself would provide any useful information....It just seems really defensive to me.

I think Coler might have a point Madcrawdad, you said that hunting down Blitzen is scummier than trying to hunt down the evil elves, but you have never mentioned hunting them down yourself. Only critizing those who wanted to go after Blitzen, I think I might second Coler, only becuase that seems to weird. If I am on later also I will review. Here are my thoughts....

After day 3, we will know Blitzen's status (townie or scum) for sure:

- If a townie turns up dead from the Blitzen bomb, Blitzen remains an innocent.
- If no dead townie from the Blitzen bomb, Blitzen has gone to the dark side.

Either way, we'll know their status. A pre-emptive strike really doesn't make sense IMO, as we'll be looking for a townie at this point.... Makes more sense to look for scum, and let Blitzen worry about Blitzen for the time being.
I just pulled this post to make my own point about "Blitzen", another thing I realize has already been discussed but I have a point I would like to make. No, I don't think we should waste time in trying to find and lynch this person, it would just waste time we could use for finding evils. The only thing I can see as being a good point of this one would be IF he/she hits a innocent and kills them, at least they remain innocent and do not turn to the evil side.

Lady, I explained what I said, but apparently you skimmed over it. You did manage to quote my response that was posted afterwards and in direct subject matter to it though. Your post only makes me rethink a couple of people since I believe the majority (probably large) of those you suspect and quoted are innocent. You've done nothing to ferret out information and merely restated some cases made by others. As for my timing on Jmax, look at my post. It was large and took some time. It was posted 14 minutes after Rb posted about her and I did not see the post until after I posted mine. But, yes I suspected her evil and combined with the fact that Rb had to adjust roles AND that she briefly used a grinh avatar in the Xmas avatar thread and changed it abruptly to the Ho-ho-ho thing right around game start, I believe she was the Grinch. I think you may have inherited that role and that may be what quieted you down. I think Charlie is on your side as well. You jumping on the nice, easy, newbie voting for herself (no matter how bad a move it is) only strengthens my conviction.

Remember your editted post catch from a coupla games ago? I think I found a changed Av catch and it's helping to put some pieces together for me.

I dig the gal, but IN THE GAME, JMax and I never get along. Look at her first post. Unbolded, joking lynch vote for me. Then not much of anything except to quietly agree with Charlies case (they both posted on the elf topic twice). I think in an effort to get a majority to lynch someone they wanted gone. Wow people! I just read through and jeez... I think I have some good suspects. Those late to question my post mostly.

Ok, I can't prove anything via a PM, in this case it was an email but still... I'll tell you what it said, believe it or not, condemn me or not.

Like I said those late onto questioning it are very suspicious to me since it looks like they're looking for a "good case" to jump on that they can shrug off later while pointing at those who started it.

I'm going to do a closer review after I get a bite and should have a list to at least look at if the RR comes to town for me. Also, those questioning my silence or why it took so long for me to respond need to look at my posting history and deal with the fact that not everyone can get in while at work. Even when I work from home, I'm too busy to worry about this 99% of the time. Those who've played with me before should be aware of that and will bear scrutiny as well since they tried to quietly bolster the allegations.

I dig the gal, but IN THE GAME, JMax and I never get along. Look at her first post. Unbolded, joking lynch vote for me. Then not much of anything except to quietly agree with Charlies case (they both posted on the elf topic twice). I think in an effort to get a majority to lynch someone they wanted gone. If you were evil (you might be), would you pass up a chance to have Coler, Me, Mad, yourself, JL, etc. eliminated without using a hit? Charlie and Lady G BOTH went quiet which is not normal for either of them. Lady G tried to use sympathy for JM to evoke a response against me IMO and apparently "missed" a key post. She caught up rather quickly huh? She's evil.

Even better, they get us to lynch a top player and also hit a top player. That way they get 2 for 1.

Lady, I explained what I said, but apparently you skimmed over it. You did manage to quote my response that was posted afterwards and in direct subject matter to it though. Your post only makes me rethink a couple of people since I believe the majority (probably large) of those you suspect and quoted are innocent. You've done nothing to ferret out information and merely restated some cases made by others. As for my timing on Jmax, look at my post. It was large and took some time. It was posted 14 minutes after Rb posted about her and I did not see the post until after I posted mine. But, yes I suspected her evil and combined with the fact that Rb had to adjust roles AND that she briefly used a grinh avatar in the Xmas avatar thread and changed it abruptly to the Ho-ho-ho thing right around game start, I believe she was the Grinch. I think you may have inherited that role and that may be what quieted you down. I think Charlie is on your side as well. I speak from experience...lol...people voting for themselves look scummy & it is always an anti-town move...I pulled it off once, on like day 3 or 4 for just one vote and managed to survive on a fluke.

it's day one people...how often do we get really good leads on day one - almost never.

No, Pap...it's not suppose to "appear" anyway. I had a moment and regretted, I took something out on ppl that had nothing to do with the situation and I felt bad:headshake2:, I am sorry really. Even for me:silly:Pap, I do understand your concern, as I said I would be on me as well, if I was others. Please realize I made a very rash, emotional mistake, ok that is all. Of coarse I don't expect you to believe every word I say (would be nice if you did though), but make your decision on me based on my other thoughts not that one post, yes I know that is alot to ask...I hate when ppl vote themselves also.
