You talkin to me?

I have a bumble bee snail that just loves my rock. Started on the glass, but now excusively cleans my rock.

But the hermits will have to go, they kill snails.

Turbo snails are your best bet really...this types are very common algae eaters and will spend good time on your rock along with your ast snails.

the hermits are scarlets so you think turbo snails how many would you reccommend. This is a 12 g so not sure if the turbos get real big.

i would get 3 and see how they get on..pointless going and buying a lot as eventually they will just starve once the algae level recedes...

Bumblebees will kill snails too, they aren't algae eaters.

I agree. My turbos and the free stomatellas are great rock cleaners.

i have one turbo and it is getting WAY too big for my taste in my 37g. i'd personally avoid turbos in that small of a tank. i'd bet that the astreas and hermits will start catching up with the algae on the LR. the tank is still just out of cycling too... i love my crabs for cleaning the rock they really do the best job on it i think. just make sure you've got those extra shells :)

My two turbo snails in my 46 go EVERYWHERE and surprising fast. I think I have baby turbo snails, but to early to tell.

I like my turbo's, but I am sooooo jealous of Grins Stomatella's. Jay

Cerith snails are good all-around cleaners as well. Most of mine hide out in the rock.

One downside to turbos, if they fall off the rock you have to flip them back over. Cerith snails don't have that problem.

HAH. I lost my first 3 turbos that way. I thought they could flip themselves back over so I just left them. Poor things. I beg to differ on the Ceriths... I have bought 2-3 batches of them now and most of them just end up on there back. I had this same problem with the astreas which is why I was buying cerith. No dice.

I have 3 turbos now that cruise around eating everything including my dried seaweed. Everytime I put it up they go munch most of it lol.
