I'm thinking of picking up a male sword on my way home from work tonight but I want to make sure everything will be okay if I do so.

My angel is fairly small (about 2" vertically). when I got him I also bought some of my mollies. the guy at the lfs told me mot to get any male mollies because they would bully the angelfish if he's too small. This was just over a month ago.

would a male sword harrass/kill my angel? I would love for my sword to have a companion (I feel a bit bad for her being all alone in there) but, of course I wouldn't want to endanger any other fish to do so.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No, they won't unless the angels are breeding.

it's just the one angel, I can't imagine breeding will be an issue, at least not on the angel side any way.

thanks for the quick response

I keep a pair of angels with a colony of montezuma swords. The angels are there to help control the fry population. The swords have never bothered the angels.

does it make a difference that the angel is so small?

update. I picked up a male sword. he's much deeper red than my female and a good bit smaller. thusfar I haven't seen him bullying anyone though one of my calico mollies charged him once (that I saw)

keep watching them...if they have enough space it shouldnt be a problem.
