I have a pair now this is there second spawned I thought that it would be more like Angels which takes 4 tries to get it right. They seem to have gotten it right its been 3 days and eggs are still brownish.

They are in a 90 now.

I need to get ready for tank sizes and time tables for grow out right now I have an empty 20H ready. I was going to put angels in it to grow out and pair off. so much for the best laid plans.:wall:

I have read over at simply discus but they are more focused towards large breeding mine only had 25 max 50 eggs I think closer to 25.

I breed angels so I am not a noob to breeding fish.

I am just looking for tip to get this right .

TIA

the discus breed almost identically to the angels. one difference is the discus with nurse the babies with their slime coat (often referred to as milk) so simply keep the babies and the parents together in an isolated tank and youll do fine

Congrats!!!! Barebottom 20 should be okay for a small spawn for a while. The usual recommendation is a 29. Your subsequent spawns may be larger so if you're serious about growing them out the best you can, try to get a 29.
