I was just wondering if anyone on this site has breed percula clowns or what i should say has anyone here removed the eggs from the tank. I have about 100 or so eggs i might be out on that number but anyways they are hanging under a ledge on my live rock just overtop of the anemone. i am wondering if anyone knows how to care for these little guys ?

Shaung,

That is great news that your Clowns layed eggs in your tank, it shows that they are happy and your tank conditions are suitable, great job!

Now it is time for the hard part! First, NO, I have not personally had my mated pair spawn, so I am very jealous at the moment, I have been waiting ever so patiently for 5 months now!

Anyways, there are several articles that you can find on the web, here is one that I have consulted before that is pretty good and gives you a nice overview on what you need to do. I would encourage you to search the web for others.

Note that if you are serious about trying to raise the fry you have a lot of hard work ahead of you, but the rewards will be great!

By the way, do keep us informed on how this project goes, PICTURES TOO!
GOOD LUCK!

First of all thanks for the info guys. Well i just got home from work and checked on the little guys and they are still there. So this is a good thing. Just for a little info gomerjoe the tank is olny about 5 months old. The perculas were the first thing in the tank. and the anemone They took to the anemone almost right away. My lfs told me they were tank raised which i tend to believe them. because i have been dealing with them for fresh water stuff for about ten years now. I am wondering if the fact they came from a 500 gallon reef tank has anything to do with them laying eggs. Apparently these two had mated in the tank before i got them. Anyways i will try to take some pics and post but its kinda hard cause they are under a chunk of live rock just above my anemone. o and by the way if you thought clown were aggresive you should see when they protect the eggs !!! nasty little suckers
