emersed amazon swords...?

anyone try growing these like this, especially with only the roots emersed, with success? i had an excess of these plants, so i threw a couple in a 5g bucket. they've grown like crazy right out of the bucket, shooting up flower stems, etc. pretty cool.

anyway, i was wondering if anyone tried growing these hydroponic-style with just the roots underwater...i need to do something with em..they're growing out of control!:)

I believe that most (if not all) aquatic plants are grown that way.
More room and easier to tend. Thats why when you do buy aquatic plants they go thru an adjustment period when you put them in your tank.
