Got a new light. A sunpod 150watt 14000k with the 6 white led and 6 blue led. Really cool light.:grinyes: Right now I have all three lights on and it looks cool. My question is at night should I put just the white leds on or just the blue or maybe both????? Should the blue & white stay on all the time???? Don't mind my tank I'm in the middle of setting back up.

Very nice looking setup. Do you have a separate switch for each of the lights? What control do you have. Typically I would say that the white leds are to simulate day break and then the 14000k to simulate day and then the blue to sim night.

Yes each light has a diff swith and a sep plug for each. So i can turn which ever one on or off when ever i want. Right no only the MH light is on timer. The blue & white leds no timer. I was thinking the same, so I leave the blue on all the time and I should put the white led on a timer also to have them come on 15-20 mins before the MH light. Then turn off 15-20 mins after the MH light goes off.

I wasn't implying that the LEDs should stay on all the time. Typically you would time it so only one light is on at a time. For illustration only: start the timer so that from 6:00 am to 8:00am the white leds come on, the from 8:00 til 6:00 the MH comes on and then the blue leds from 6:00pm until 6:00am the next morning. Again...times are for illustration, not a good program to run. My Aquacontroller does all the phasing and it works out great. If you have a timer light strip that times each socket then your set. Hope that helps.

Didn't you get a book with the light? I just looked online and it appears that they imply that the blue/white leds are you moon lights. I would check how the lights step through the cycles.

It did come with a instruction book but didn't say or give any suggestions. just safety. I read that too, the white and blue are lunar lights. the box says white led moon light and blue led nocturnal light. Think i will run the white led for sunrise and sunset, the blue led for night time and the MH light for day time. Guess I should invest in a strip with built in timer or buy to more timers. The lights are off now here some pics. The 1st one is with both white and blue leds on and the 2nd is with just blue led on.

I thought that blue LED lighting was mostly just for your own pleasure of being able to see what your fish and etc's nightly routine is. I could be completely off base but that was my understanding. I didn't know lights were coming with white LED's nowadays so I have no clue what that is for, it could simply be as mentioned above to simulate daybreak.
