Paralyzed Jack Dempsey?

My Jack was broad sided by an Oscar about 3 weeks ago. He was swimming up and down after the attack but because he was obviously hurt, we moved him to a hospital tank so he could be alone and regain his composure. Ever since he's been laying on his side, not moving at all! He doesn't get up to eat or swim or anything, hasn't moved an inch. The only food he gets is whatever floats into his mouth. So my question is... Could he be paralyzed from the attack and if so, what am I supposed to do with him? Do we leave him there until he dies or do we (not me) put him out of his misery? Could he possibly get better after all this time?
