the fish are at least 2 inches each now, and it seems that the one yellow lab with most black on it is getting really friendly with the lab with the least amount of black on it. the one with black has been somewhat chasing the other one in a circle and the other lab seems to not only be swimming away, but also following where the black one swam. possible breeders?

Possibly, but hard to say for sure since mbuna's can behave like that without spawning or the possibility of spawning being involved since these are social fish which establish pecking orders. You may want to double the quantity of labs you have in the event that you have 2 males, 1 female. At 2" they're still juveniles.

Yes, they are a little small to be breeding.
Circles, in fast motions, is a fight for dominance.
