Okay, so I found some of this at Petco and I thought I would give it a shot. I buried it in a clump like a dummy. I thought I screwed up again, but it must be rooting under the gravel because I found some about two inches away from the clump. Will it take off? Any hints would be appreciated. :)

did you buy it as assorted or was it in one of those "pots"??
I cant really answer those questions but keep me updated on its progress.. Next on my list is some micro sword

edit: actually come to think about it.. I remember i read a post on micro sword and it said not to clump it together.. spread it apart and eventually it will build a nice carpet..

It was in a pot. I'm afraid to move it now because I think it won't stay buried and float up like I'm been finding the strays. My dojo likes to mess with it a lot. I've been burying the strays around the tank next to the glass to see if it will root. It's been rooting.

what kind of substrate you have? just bury them in the substrate deep enough so they stay put.. rooting is good.. lol you talking about it makes me want to visit my LFS and get some..

I thought it might die if I did that with no light, which is why I put it by the glass to keep an eye on it. It doesn't seem to mind if I cover it up.

My gravel is a mix of very fine to pebbles. I added the fine stuff to it when I added plants.

if it's already planted and has started rooting, I'd just leave it. it will send off chains fast enough... and before you know it you will have plenty. then you can clip a few of the new sprouts and move them, to start patches in other parts of the tank. if you uproot it now, you're more likely to damage the roots and slow down growth.

Got two more on lunch in their baskets and another plant I don't know what it is. :headbang2:

Post a pic of the other plant!!

$3.99 a pot on sale.

I'll take a pick of the other one once I get it in the tank.
