My boyfriend and I are setting up our first sw tank. We're planning on starting out with FOWLR and then moving on to a reef set-up once we get a feel for it. We've found a 75g set-up that includes the tank, stand, a coralife lighting fixture, and a somewhat small sump. My bf is planning on making a sump from some one of the two tanks that we aren't using but we're not sure which one to use. Would a 10 gal tank be a large enough sump for a 75 gal tank? And if we end up getting a larger tank (either 120 or 150) what size tank would we need to use for the sump? We have a 30 gal that we could use.

I prefer the bigger the better mentality. More water volume/More space to work with. I went with a 20L for my 75g because thats all I could get to fit through the door underneath my stand. I would have rather have gone with a 30 or 40 if it would have fit. The 20L serves it's purpose.
