Haha, just an update on the discus, angels, and rams who are all living together with some longfin blue leopard danios, harlequin rasboras, yoyo loaches, and an unknown small pleco (seems he's going to stay small too).
I originally had the six rams in a 10 gallon as they were juveniles, but moved them to the 110 when they got a little bigger and I needed the tank they were in for other fish. I lost one or two, saw four this morning, but I haven't counted carefully.
The discus and angels were originally in the 65H that subsequently started to drip leak from the front glass seam. It didn't look like a big deal, but I wanted to drain the tank before it burst open flooding the fish room and killing the fish in it.
Everyone has been getting along together. Well, except when I mistakingly added three skunk botia to the tank. Those little devils would nip everyone's fins. They are in the tank with the Herichthys sp. turquoise and are behaving now.
The angels have tripled in size and the discus almost doubled. Their bodies are about the same size. The discus don't take any crap from the angels and bully their way in to get to the food, particularly the bloodworms, beefheart, mysis shrimp, and Wattley Discus formula. I've introduced Aquarian tropical flakes and they are all eating it.
I'm trying to wean the discus off of the frozen foods as the main part of their diet and have it only as a supplement. My food budget is through the roof as just in the one tank is 26 angels and 10 discus!
