good online store to buy plants?

Hello,

I am new to keeping live plants in an aquarium and after seeing so many beautiful pictures of planted tanks, I am inspired to try setting up a more advanced tank. In the past I've only kept anachris and green mondo grass...the only plants I could find at my PetSmart healthy enough to take a chance on.

If anyone knows of a good live aquatic plant store, online or mail order that they have had good experience with, could you post here or PM me? I would really appreciate it!

Where are you located? Be sure to post your location so people will know which aquatic plant store to direct you. For low lighting plants and if you do live in US, give Mgamer20o0 a private message. If not, look into Classifieds section for more plants to look on.

Mondo grass is not true aquatic plant though. Good luck.:)

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned where I live. I'm located in Illinois, about 45 minutes away from Chicago. If anyone knows of a good live plant store in Illinois please let me know! Otherwise, a big thanks to those who commented already and anymore suggestions will be great as well.

I've had planted tanks, but the first time I've ever ordered online. This was on a tip from people on the MFK forums, which I value, so I finally took the suggestion, since I can't seem to find a good selection locally. I was honestly hesitant, as I've never ordered fish or plants through the mail (outside of some garden plants from mail order magazine that I got burned on years ago - dead stuff with no soil or any sign of moisture).

So I was hesitant as I opened the box today, thinking the worst. However I was impressed. The quality and size of the plants are beyond what I've been able to find locally, even the good stores, and well beyond anything petsmart has. In addition about 1/2 price to what I've paid in the past for the same plants, with shipping around $11 or so, and a bonus plant included.

I have a planted 10 gallon with 100% of the plants from them. All the plants came in great condition and are doing very well in the tank.

Awesome store that I'd definitely order from again without hesitation.
 
I've not bought any plants from an online store as of yet, but have purchased / traded from individuals on the classifieds forums. So please dont forget to support other hobbyists and watch the forums for something that might interest you. Also the plantedtank and aquatic plant central forums will have a lot of plant activity in thier classified sections for plants.
