All I did is yesterday I slowly turned up the heater in the tank till it was about 79-80 degrees and woke up to the egg clutch...

Unless you have lots of room, I hope you're only hatching part of that clutch! Pretty soon you'll be up to your ears in baby snails!
It's a lovely clutch. :D

Congrats on the clutch. Dont be alarmed if the first one doesnt hatch, I know with new breeders sometimes the first one doesnt hatch. They also get bigger the more the snails lay, so be ready for a ton of snails. With hatching the snails, I find that the babies do best in established tanks where they can roam and nibble on the slime in the tank!!
What color are the brigs?
Good luck!

I've got some locally collected ones that lay theres underwater. The egg case looks like it has lil' globs of oil in it.Then they hatch!

What kind of snails are these? Brigs dont lay underwater, marisas, spixis and pest snails do though.

Mine are much drier than yours. Any tips? I spritz them several times a day and have them where there is humidity.

I believe these are the chestnut 1's brown whate ever they are the first 1 i found was from the gold because thats were she was when i went to bed....Thought she was doing something up and out the water I just couldnt see...I dont think I can ship without a permit.

Hmm. I wonder if that applies to clutches, too. Or just snails.
beviking
12-07-2007, 1:53 PM
Actually clutches are not permitted to be shipped even if you have a permit and the snails have to be a certain size. Makes for easier identification when APHIS inspects for them.
You can ship without a permit, you just cannot ship legally without a permit. I'm not advocating shipping them at all, just stating facts.

Thanks beviking for the info I don't want to take the chance so I guess I'll be freezing these ones and turning down the temp in the tank a bit....
