Something Up With Angel

Last week I noticed something odd on my angels (2). See the photo. Only one has the redish spot on its back.

37 gal.
Fluval 405
weekly 50% water changes, with Prime
params are: A=0, nI=0, nA=15ish, ph=7, temp 79.2-79.6
Fairly mature tank, more than one year old. It was recently moved from a sunroom to the living room. I drained 75% water, then refilled with water treated with prime at 79.3 degrees. I use a digital thermometer in the tank and to test water temp before it goes in the tank.

Inhabitants are 2 angels (about 1 year), 2 pearl gourami (7 months) and 1 clown pleco (Howard - 2 years). Up to now zero problems with any of the fish. Tank has been doing fine, now this.

Anyone have an idea what this is?

That angel doesnt look good at all as a whole. What are your water parmaeters, and have you noticed any fighting between it and the gouramis? Your tank has quiet a load in it..

Water params are in original post. colors are washed out some. stripes are actually vibrant black.

gouramis are quite shy and do NOT interact with the angels at all. not even during feeding which is 2x a day, 3 days a week.

i know i have a load in this tank. hubby and i are buying a new house and have a 55 stored. as soon as we move (VERY soon) these fish will be going into the 55 with NO other fish.

The angel itself looks fine. What I am seeing in the photo is a bruise that is healing and the fish's anus. Neither in trouble. My concern is that the fish could prosper from an increase in feeding frequency. The angel, at least from the picture is a bit skinny.

So...increase the feeding? How much? I fear to overfeed as there are pond snails in the tank. Guess I can put a lettuce leaf in if they get out of hand.

the angel appears to be relatively young.
I concur with the feeding increase to a few small feedings and fatten this one up a bit.
the red could also be a result of the ligh colored area at the end of the dorsal fin..I see this quite often in young angels that are light in color. as the fish matures the colors should darken a bit and hide the see thru (blood on the fin area is common and as long as it is not spreading it should be fine)
