I am going to set up a 58 / 75 gallon aquarium some time this month and I would like to keep shell dwelling cichlids. Could you recommend some good species for that size of tank? Could you also recommend another mid to upper water cichlid to occupy the middle/top of the tank? Thanks.

Any shelldwellers you want will work in a tank that size.
As for tankmates - that might dictate what you want in shellies. If you'd like some rock dwellers, 1/3 the tank in rocks with a pair of Julies or Altolamprologus (maybe 1 male and 2-3 females of altos), some cyprichromis swimming up top, and your choice of shellies would work. I think Neolamprologus multifasciatus would be cool because they'll slowly spread across the open sandy areas.
With a tank that size, you have lots of options!
