View Full Version : canister filter cleaned - not flowing well

hey guys,
I posted a few days ago about my eheim 2217, and how i hadn't cleaned it since i set it up over a year ago.
I've now cleaned it.
Now that it's running again, it's flowing, and is obviously pulling water in, and putting water out the appropriate places, but the spray bar isn't putting out the pressure i expected. It seams like a weak flow for a 2217. normal? am i crazy?
help?

re: tube cleaning:
not very seriously. however, i did check them all to make sure no blockage was taking place.

Clean the tubes, its HIGHLY recommended. You have to stick a brush in there and flush all the gunk out. I do mine like once a month and its amazing.

:iagree: Clean your canister at least once a month, you'll see an amazing difference.

Clean the impeller too. It will also make it quieter.

if this thing can get any quieter, i'd be amazed. cause holy crap it's as silent as a...really silent thing.
