Hey all,
My friend is just starting out with SW tanks. And has been calling me over every few days to look at something or rather...(and it has really pushed me to start my own, any way...)

He bought some cured LR from a LFS out in the burbs. It looked like a really good piece too, full of coraline, polyps, feather dusters, copepods, and several really small starfish. But then after a few nights he started seeing tons of those red-orange worm things.

He has been using a trap to try to get them, he's getting about 12 a day, but there are tons of them. How can he rid them without killing all the good things on the rock?
I thought a dip in 1.03 saltwater might get them out, but wasn't sure if it would kill everything else.

As always thanks in advance...
Jason

They sound like bristle worms to me. If this is the case, then just leave them in the tank as they will act as part of the cleanup crew..Attached a pic of one for your comparison...

Sounds like bristle worms, if they look like the one in Atnixon post. They are good for the tank.

No mate, they are fine for the most part..The main type of bristle worms that go for corals really are fireworms..google image search them and look at the difference...
