I picked up a little 5g today. However it was missing the top trim. I don't think it will be a problem but figured I'd run it by some more experienced people. Would this tank burst at the seams if filled? I know there's a company out there that sells the trims, forget the link, but I have to take into account that I paid less than $3 for this guy. So whattaya think?

if it is siliconed together, then the trim doesnt do anything, its just there for show as far as i have been informed. hope this helps.!

In a tank that small, the silicone sealant should be enough to hold it. On larger tanks, the top trim usually has a structural role to play. Have you figured out how to get a top to sit on it properly without the ledge that is usually part of the top trim?
