Hey guys

Wondering if there was any products out there that do the same job (and look nearly the same) as the ADA Amazonia powder form substrate (the stuff Takashi Amano uses for the top layer, around rocks and forground substrate).

So if there is anything out there that does the same job and looks as nice but it cheaper, I would love to hear about it.

ADA gear is serriously overpriced so there is bound to be something

thanks guys

have a good one

Compared to flourite, it's the same price and that's here in the USA where flourite is made.............

Sand works etc, but ADA AS works quite well.
I do not use the Power sand any more, it never did anything significant I could do by adding KNO3 etc.

So a single bag of ADA AS 9 liters runs about the same price and shipping tends to be less as it weighs less than Flourite and lot less than Eco complete.

But regional products and sediments that weigh a lot play huge roles in cost.
Still, even with th shipping across the pacific, ADA IS STILL AS COMPETITIVE AS ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL BRAND IN THE USA.

Which is surprising........
And it's really a great product depending on your goals(not the best for folks that move plants and uproot often)

Tom Barr

cheers mate

we have an ADA branch in australia. 9L of Amazonia normal is AUD$62.95
My goal is a nature garden, and once I have it set up right I plant on not moving plants, just letting them grow (My gf can prune them when i am deployed next!! lol)
