if someone put soft coral pieces in their luggage in New Mexico (abviously properly packed) could it survive until it arrived in Hawaii? it is not legal to bring it in but would that person really get caught?

you're willing to risk heavy fines for a piece of coral?

im sure the people working the xray machines will see something "odd" other than the normal items in luggages and will open it. and they do open checked luggage (supposedly its random) you'll know when you open you're luggage and there is a note from the TSA. but im sure if you did get caught they wouldn't be leaving you a note.

it's not worth it. talk to customs or get it shipped from a dealer.

i can't find anyone that will ship to me... i've tried several places. does anyone have any ideas?

The discussion of illegally shipping items is not the best way to go around this. You should be seeking more legal routes to try and find someone who ships coral...Maybe ask for other members who keep reefs to post in a thread giving supplier links or recomendations..

Thanks
