I Have a 75gal african tank and all of them are doing great, except one of my peacocks keeps spitting out her food. My water tests perfectly, tank temp is around 82 degrees F, and no one seems sick in there. Any ideas?

**** could be a million things Is she new? Is She pregnant? Africans are mouth breeders so they dont eat while holding eggs. Is she beat up? U gotta pic of her?

she isn't holding eggs. Doesn't appear to have any injuries. She's not that new either (was one of the first ones I put in the tank, about 3-4 months ago). I'll try to get a pic.

Nope. No new diet. She will eat really small crushed up flakes now but that's it. I figure it's a step in the right direction anyway. Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem recently and had 4 demanosi and 2 yellow labs die. Has it got any string like object coming out of it? Stomach bulging?

My problem ended up being bloat. I figured it out after the 4 fish died. I setup a quarantine tankeand chucked the last two in and treated with Octazin, unfortunately it was too late. It is common (and dont quote me on this) that the parasites will only affect one fish at a time. Mine died 1 week apart from eachother. Once I put the last of the demanosi in the tank I think the parasite stayed with that fish and did not have time to occupy the next fish.

The quanrantine tank definitely saved me.

BTW, Bloat has many causes, one of which is over feeding. I cut down since and all seems to be ok. I also addedd some frozen peas to their diet. I heard this helps their digestion.

Yea I set up a quarantine tank for her just in case, but she looks healthy to me. If anything she looks too thin
