as my nem grows (rapidly) im finding it harder than i had anticipated to keep it away from my corals. it does not move it's foot but it stretches VERY VERY far. it is not close enough to any lps but it is totally stinging some of my zoas now. i am hoping some of you can show me some fts of your nems co-exsisting in your reefs. here's the latests fts i have to show ya

it's from a few weeks ago. the nem stings the zoas to the lower right of it (in the pic) once in a while but mostly it sits up at the top of the rocks and stings the zoas up there top center. so far the zoas still open up as long as the nem isn't touching them but obviously i know they won't last long up there. i'm going to try to get some of the zoas off i guess and just let the rest get taken out :(

Your tank is beautiful...had to comment. You saw in my thread how small my nems are so I can't offer a suitable pic.

Agreed, beautiful tank. I have no suggestions since Grins has me wanting that $250 flame bubble tip anemone so I'll be waiting on that one for a while haha.
I never realized they could stretch that much. Definitely something for me to think about when I eventually do get a nem.

thanks for the compliments :)

i've moved it's rock since (trying to move it as far away from zoas as possible) but this shows it's stretching ability really well...

beautiful nems, I can't wait to get mine, but I think I will keep in mind there stretching ability.
I'm of no help on this one other than to move the zoas as you already mentioned.

I love the way yours stretches Salty. Here's a pic of mine. You can see it's pretty close to quite a few corals with no side affects to anyone.

Loving the tank CPD.. Have you lost any out of that massive schoul of Blue Greens you have??? They still even look rather friendly to each other.
Looks like your clown is happy in his 'nem also.

Cheers CL. I've lost 2 chromis, another 2 are in the sump (via overflow) the other 11 are fine. The clown loves her anemone and feeds it well!!!!

My RBTA's foot is located at least 1/2 way down the back of my very tall rock wall & streched it's boddy up & over the front of the wall. As it keeps getting bigger (size of a dinner plate now), I have to keep moving all the corals away from it's opening.

my clown has started trying to feed the colt coral and doesn't understand when the food fall out.. She actually seems to get upset because she will get the chunk of food again and spit it at the coral. Its quite comical. I need to get her a 'nem and fast.
anyone want to put me on their xmas list :D

You can look in my reeflog for my latest pic, but I put my bta on a side (like you did) and pretty much just moved everything away from it. I think the closest coral from it is at least 6 inches away...but a lot of it has to do with the current moving it's tentacles. Mine pretty much just reaches the same way every time, so I've learned where things can't go...I'm sure you will too. ;)

i guess it's just that it pretty much touches everything on that whole 1/3rd of the tank... which is just the zoas thankfully i guess. the wierd thing is that the zoas are not dying. why is that? how much stinging can they take cause they are taking a lot!

Zoas can actually handle a lot from a BTA but I have found them to not be fully open much & not reproducing.

well i don't really care if they don't spread on the side that the nem is on! :) i did try to move my little group of fire and ice zoas (top center) but some had spread onto the LR so we'll see what happens to those guys...

heres a pic of my nano about a month ago. the purple condy was fun but there would be times when he inflated so big that he would be able to sting almost everything on that whole side of the tank. in this pic he actually looks small to how he normally looked. then one day he made lunch of the clown you see there at the bottom and was able to get his sticky little tentacles around the colt one night and wouldnt let him go. as of today the colt is pretty much dead, he hasnt opened up since and it looks like i should toss it but the blue shrooms healed up nice. but anyway im not sure if your nem is a condy or not but if he gets too big watch out, it might be cheaper to give him back than lose a bunch of coral. the bta at the bottom has been no trouble though but i did end up returning the condy.

It sure looks nice in that pic though!
Pretty condy, but yeah they sell them cheap for a reason it seems.

speedykeys i remember thinking that you'd probably have problems in your tank with those 2 nems at some point... you tank sure looks nice in that pic tho!!
It really does. I want that blueberry gorg!
