I went a bit nuts and got a bunch of plants, and rearranged things. now it looks a bit chaotic. Any one with an artistic eye able to give some advice on how to organize this mess?

I think it's lookin good angel... I think if I was going to rearange it more, I'd take the smaller plants that are in the front left and put them in the middle of the tank, and move everything from the middle section, except for the back rows, and move that off to the left, witht he taller stuff further left. then the bulbs, I'd position around the back of the tall driftwood on the right, and maybe slope the driftwood down a bit, so it feels a little longer. this ought to open up a nice central clearing. I'd probably leave the large plant that is at the foot of the driftwood now, where it is... (maybe it's a crypt or java fern?)

I too like it, but I suspect that there is room for improvement.

Over at APC, there's a college student named Steven Chong who has a few articles on aquascaping that include an explanation of what phi is and why it is important. Check them out at APC - search "Aquascaping 101" for starters.
