hi ,
i put in "natural spring water" last night into my 75 gallon tank. the guy at the water store said that it was pure, with NOTHING in it. I decided to use it rather than my tap with a dechlorinator. I mixed with Instant Ocean and filled it up. Started running my eco system and checked SG. It was high. So, i started dumping and filling with just spring water. I did this several times, too high, went to bed.
Got up, added base sand. Waited, tested. too high. out of spring water, turned everything off. went back to water store, saw somebody else, asked what is in the water. "NOTHING". any trace minerals, i asked. "Oh sure". my bad. i shouldve asked yesterday. just to name a few:
copper
iron
leadl
nitrogen, nitrate
arsenic
sodium*
can i treat this water and go on with this process?
can i dump water and clean sand (how?) ?
do i dump water and sand and start over? what about my miracle mud and sponge filters??
