Specifics of the photograph and tank

Well, this is my 2 year old Green Mandarin Goby (Pterosynchiropus splendidus - I love how the word splendid is in his name). Anyway, this is one of my very favorite fish and his name is Mr. Pfan C. Pants. As the contest winner, I must admit, he deserves al the credit. He is my most photogenic fish.

I actually took this photo of him in order to have a source for a painting I was doing. I love painting fish and ocean scenes and he has such beautiful, almost unbelievable colors, I just had to immortalize him on the canvas.

This shot was taken with my Nikon D40X SLR and was with only natural daylight and the aquarium lights, no flash.

What else can I say.... I am so proud and thank everyone who voted for Mr. Pants.

Thank you one and all. :dance2: I am so proud of my little winner.

Grins: yes I have a million shots of him. He is so cute I take photos of him all the time. I chose to submit this one because he was looking at me and his lips were sticking out a lot and he had a super-sweet look on his face!

I forget who I voted for, but either way your pic is awesome and a well deserved winner. I love the mandarin, I want to get one when I clear some fish out of my current set-up. Excellent pic.

Thanks so much for your kind words Matt. You will love having a Mandarin. The only thing I can say is try to find one that will eat a variety of foods. Many people I know have gotten these gorgeous little fellows and unfortunately they don't last long.

:thumbsup:Yes, they do need very mature tanks, mine is over 2yrs. old and there is tons of stuff for him to eat. After Christmas, I should be able to get another tank going(to house some of my current fish). We'll see.
