View Full Version : could i get some german balloon rams?
I got my sister her very first fish tank for x-mas. Its a 6 gallon eclipse bowfront. I was wondering if I could get some German blue rams for her tank? What are their habitat requirements and what can I put in as their tankmates? Sorry if this is a stupid question as I am not a Cichlid guru.
any input appreciated:)

rams are not suited to anything under 15 gallons, 20+ gallons is best sorry

hmmm...a planted shrimp tank would be nice
I dont want to sound cruel but honestly a dead shrimp is not as bad as a dead fish so a shrimp tank would be more "forgiving" than stepping into fish right away...

you could also get two male platies. They are tough as nails, and forgiving for the new fish keeper mistakes, and on top of it all, they are very colorful, and have personality.
