Hood Ideas??

Hello everyone. I am trying to come up with ideas on building my own hood for my 55 gallon. Im not housing any corals or anything right now but i am planning on adding some once i've created a hood with a sufficient amount of lighting and installed a refugium/sump. What kind of bulbs should i use? And how much wattage should there be?? also if any one knows a link or has some knowledge on construction a hood suitable for corals and fish that like to jump, it would be appreciated. Oh and the tank dimensions are 48''x12''x18''.
 
T-5's are flouresent's but much more intense than normal output T-12's, VHO T-12's and PC's now add the individual reflectors and they can compete with MH's
 
So T-5 bulbs will fit into normal flourescent fixtures? I think what i need is an article or something with picrures explaining everything about lighting. Like with moon lights and stuff like what kinds of coral and stuff need what. If anyone knows an article or is up for typing a bunch of usefull information i would appreciate that greatly.
 
okay so i did some research on lighting and i think im going to go with a couple VHO bulbs and maby make an extra actinic bulb or something. do you think 2 48'' VHO bulbs (220w) and some sort of actinic bulb would work??
