:help:I just bought a new 60g tank that will eventually house African Cichlids (I am planning on overstocking to cut down on aggression). I am trying to figure out what kind of filter to buy. I was thinking about two Emperor 400 biowheel filters, but I wondered if anyone had better suggestions. Would an external canister filter be better? If so, what kind? I would like to get something that is somewhat quiet. Thanks for any help!

I have 2 Emperor 400s on one of my 55s. It houses some really large haps and the water stays crystal clear.
My other two 55s have 2 Penguin 350s each. Their water stays clear all the time too.

The 350 HOBs will be much quieter than 4 biowheels running on the 2 model 400s. I would only use one of them but I intentionally understock.

I am not a big fan of HOBs, just a personal preference. I would go canister allt he way or an HOB and one small canister.
