Just a couple of questions to keep you guys occupied, don`t take the Micky I`m new to this:

1, When feeding frozen food cubes, do I need to unfreeze them 1st?

2, Any help on how to get my Oscars to stop fighting? I have 2, both about 12 cm long and one will not stop bullying until the other is stuck behin the rock, any ideas on how to calm him down?

Hope you can help.

how big is your tank? oscars need a lot of space and they are really aggressive fish. they like to tear up plants and etc...if your tank is big enough..like 55 gal try to give more rocks, caves, hiding places.

Have you got any tips on thawing the food in the water, it seems to discintigrate pretty easy, shall I try feeder fish?

How much are they and what type of fish are they?

I would never ever use feeders. They can and do carry disease and have little nutritional value any way. If you want to feed live try earthworms or ghost shrimp.

To thaw just scoop out some tank water in a cup and put in the frozen food to thaw. You can then dump it in the tank. I like to pick it out of the water with my fingers bc this way I can control the amount.

not sure on the feeder fish.

the frozen food will break up if that's what it's like when thawed. by which I mean you can get whole, frozen shrimp and they won't break up, but daphnia or chopped mussel will.

i get a little dish (not washed in soap) and put some aquarium water in it, then leave the frozen food in it till it's thawed. i guess with an oscar you would just then dump the food in. if its bloodworm i give it a bit of a rinse in aquarium water, but i don't think you need to.

EDIT: i hate it when that double post thing happens :)
