Somthing is growing [Archive]

I have had a growth on the inside of my tank lid once before and removed it, it was pinkish in colour(looked like a sponge, but was hard), now it has grown again i can't figure out what it is can anyone help me.

It could be a bit of food that got stuck to the lid. Things will grow on it and be hard in texture. Pink might be from red food?

Do you have snails in your tank? Could it be snail eggs?

What about leftover flake food that drops onto the hood when you feed your fish?

it sounds like snail eggs to me also.

how much are you feeding your fish? if you are overfeeding, then the snails are more likley to breed.
