Just wanted to share some good fortune: last night I purchased a 30 gal, with a beautifully dark stained (almost mahogany looking) stand, heater and filter, along with glass top and flourescent light, all for $75.00.
Even more, it came with a 5 pound bucket of food, some water conditioner, some salt, carbon and even some buffer.
And the best part, it also came with about a 4 1/2 inch clown loach and about 5 or 6 inch albino pl*co.
Hope everybody else is having a great day, I know I am!

I killed a whole lot of fish by feeding them from a 10 pound container of food. Fish food degrades after about 6 months. After a few years it is deadly -- but it looked fine to me.

That is a good deal. What kind of filter and heater did you get?

Thanks for the info on the food anonapersona, I didn't know it would go bad after 6 months. I'll chuck it tonight.
As for the heater and filter types, the heater is a Hagen and the filter is an AC300, maybe a 500, not too familiar with ACs so I'll have to figure out which it is.
I plan on scrapping it anyway in favor of an Emperor 280.

I'm pretty sure its a 300, a 500 is really to big for it, even though you can't have too much filtration. Why would you want to switch to an Emperor? I mean, there is nothing wrong with that, but there really is no reason to switch.

It is a 300, I couldn't read the writing on the filter. :) I'm thinking about switching just because I like emperors better, but I'll probably keep the AC for a while. It's a lot quieter than I expected and has a great flow rate. I don't see any reason to spend the money when it's not necessary!
