Anyone know what type of shrimp this is? A common name? What it eats? It is the only type of shrimp available where I live. Hoping to find out if this is suitable as a planted algae eating shrimp.

Here's a picture of the shrimp.

I didn't find anything relating them to the aquarium trade--but they are subject to many scientific studies, so there must be someone at a University who knows more. The only common names I noted were 'common freshwater shrimp' and 'glass shrimp'--which are used for pretty much all the small, clear-ish FW shrimp. Sorry! They are not listed on shrimp retailers I visit, either.
