What's the temparament for Flag Cichlid (Laetacara Curviceps, I think...for the scientific name)?

While they're bigger/thicker bodied like the acaras - they're quite peaceful little fish. I really liked my pair. I kept them in a 20 high and they did great (although they never spawned for me). There was a bit of male/female aggression, but it was minimal.
Can you tell I like 'em?

I'm thinking maybe I can put a Flag Cichlid with my Blood Parrot and Severums. However, I don't know how sensitive they are with water. What ph and temparature do you keep for your Flag Cichlid? Thanks.

They're really easy with regards to water. I kept them in a pH between 6.2 up to 7.6 (my water is naturally about 7.8, and I lowered their pH for a while trying to induce spawning down to the 6.2 point...which didn't help).
Temperature was normally around 76, could get up to about 80 in the summer, and they survived two days in 52 degree water during a week long power outage thanks to a really, really bad ice storm (I then took them over in a 5 gallon tank to my sisters house where she still had power).
They are tough little fish. :D

story time...
the other day at the lfs i saw a bunch of flag fish in a tank, and they were about to put a red devil in with them (it was floating in the bag). sucks to be the flag fish...

Wow...What was the LFS thinking? They wanna feed the Red Devil?

I received my Flag Cichlid from Jeff Rapps today. What does this fish eat the most? I read that Flag Cichlid likes blood worm, but I don't want my other fish to get used to that diet. Any other food Flag Cichlid eats?

They'll eat anything (flakes, freeze dried foods, frozen worms, etc...).
