Does anyone know if you can get these in an LFS? Or are they DIY projects? My cousin's grandparents have a huge tank with a background that looks like rocks ()... also I've seen plenty on here. I wasn't sure where to put this thread since I'm also saying that you can post your pictures of them! But if I get a second tank I'd like to have one. :grinyes:

I've seen them on ebay before. I just did a quick search and didn't see any at this time.

actually i have seen some of these backgrounds in lfs, and let me tell you, a picture on the website does not give any justice to their true visual splendor! you have to see them in a real tank (properly lit) to fully experience their true beauty. that said, there are also some practical benefits here. for instance, if you have large aggressive fish, that destroy your plants and stuff, then these backgrounds are a good alternative. also many of these backgrounds are made of a sponge like material that allows the cultivation of good bacteria. the only negative to me is that since they are sillicon glued into the tank, you are kinda stuck with that background forever!
