i had electric yellows die on me 4 actually( ammonia and nitrite 0 nitrate 15)
then saw male johanni showing agression toward took male out because of obvious agression and thought this must be the cause of deaths.
i then see after i caught him out .his female breeding partner showing agression towards the e. yellows .so i took like 20 mins to catch her without taking much rocks out. then i see she was guarding fry. im like duhhhhh to myself no wonder.
so i bought 8 more yellows (3 really small 3-4cm and 5 about 4-6cm)
with 3 nice huge pieces of lava/ocean rock it has heaps of holes for fish to hide in. so when i allimatised the yellows i turned lights off and put new rocks in. they look like they are fine :-). but ill see in the morning if they survived the test of night.
stupid johanni, i have mixed them before and have about ten fry that i caught out of 125 in a 10g and there is still a few hiding in between rocks in 125g.
hmmm well i put johanni in a 15g together so they can chill out
any other people had trouble with johanni?
p.s. i have 30+ freeswimming eyebiter fry :-) in my 46g
