Hello, has anyone ever had a twig cat? I saw one the other day and I've been thinking about adding one to my aquarium. Is ther anything in particular I should know about them and are they hardy?

Many different fish are sold as twig cats. Some are hardy, some are not. The most common fish sold as a twig cat is Farlowella acus. This is a hardy fairly easy to maintain fish and even breed. They are more or less vegetarian but will take some animal matter. Algae wafers, flake food, zuccini, snow pea pods, and shelled peas are all eaten. A real nice fish.

Second most often seen is Sturisoma aureus. I got mine as a "Royal Farlowella."
