what was the big pressies you gave?

Umm... I got Resident Evil 4 for my younger brother... I'm a bit strapped for cash so it's not exactly 'big'

Ummm
I spent $200 and now that I think of it I didn't buy anybody much stuff. I got my friend a $50 gift card to barnes and noble and a blanket and books and my art that was in a galllery and stuff...

The most significant gift I got anyone is... well there is an ebay page that sells stuff made by artisans in mexico. They had a bunch of carvings of animals done in matrix boulder opal, which is like marble with chunks and veins of opal in it. My neighbor, who was my best friend for many years... her mother is a very nice woman but is very isolated, has no friends, her husband is very rude to her and ignores her all the time, so she drinks a lot. She always seemed very compassionate towards me when I was in and out of mental hospitals and such... and I haven't talked to her in a few years probably. She collects frog things... frogs all over their house and yard. So I bought her a opal carving of a little frog. When I gave it to her and talked to her some she got teary eyed and kept hugging me. :)

It's hard buying gifts for people from the other side of the world...so I just got everyone giftcards to Amazon.com. My sister said "cool" my grandparents thanked me in an email and my girlfriend practically jumped threw the monitor...

hmm biggest gift i gave was probably the tivo i gave to my bf for his birthday/christmas present. we had been at my parents house and had been playing with their tivo, the whole time he was so excited about recording multiple shows and being able to rewind football (guys, what are we gonna do with them!) and he had no clue that i had already ordered a tivo for him :) he was so excited when he opened the box and saw the tivo unit, and was even more excited when i told him it was prepaid for a year. money is tight for us right now so i knew he would be fretting about how we would pay for it.

biggest present for me was a tie between him moving down here in time for christmas (long story, but he moved down here from maine so we could be together again) along with my 28G fish tank :)

Me and my girlfriend didnt bother fretting over giving eachother gifts, since we both agreed back in college that it was torturous and never worked out right.

I got myself a 22" monitor and desktop computer for my home office and my reaction to it is that the monitor is freakin' sweet, but the desktop is a tad unreliable.
